RETURN POLICIES
Bank Transfer:
If you choose bank transfer or deposit as your method of payment, we will provide you with our account numbers for you to make the corresponding payment. You can make the transfer from your bank or, if you prefer, make a deposit in person at a branch. Once payment is received, your order will be sent for shipment. If payment is not received within 7 business days, the order will be cancelled. Proof of payment is required to process the order.
Payment by Credit and/or Debit Card:
We also have the international payment processor Stripe, which accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit and debit cards.
What type of cards do you accept?
We accept debit/credit cards in Dominican Pesos (DR) and United States Dollars (US) with local Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards.
Why can my credit card be declined?
Your card may be declined for one of the following reasons:
- It is possible that the card has expired. Make sure your card is not expired.
- It is possible that the card limit has been reached. Verify with your bank that the allowed amount for purchases has not been exceeded, as well as the limit for Visa installment transactions.
- Incorrect data. Make sure you have entered all the required fields correctly.
- The anti-fraud system may reject the transaction: in this case, the bank authorizes the transaction, but the anti-fraud system managed by Stripe for Customrentcar.com rejects it due to a possible fraud detection. The system places a temporary hold on the credit card for the amount of the purchase and then automatically reverses it, preventing the transaction from processing.
Is it safe to use my credit card on the website?
Yes, data is transmitted securely via SSL encryption. The payment system will be processed through Stripe's secure payment gateway.
We will not ship the product until your payment is confirmed by any of the payment methods.
Refund Information
How do refunds work according to the different payment methods?
You will be required to provide a credit card authorization, debit card authorization or provide cash for the estimated rental cost. In addition to the anticipated rental amount, an additional amount may be required. This additional amount may depend on, among other factors, the pick-up location, rental dates, size of the vehicle you wish to rent, etc.
If you want to know the estimated cost:
- Simply start the reservation process online.
- Be sure to include all your information, such as location, rental dates and vehicle size.
- Confirm that you meet the age requirements and select any additional optional items you wish to rent, such as coverage offered, GPS, child seat, etc.; this information will be included in the total.
Note: Rates for additional drivers cannot be added until you arrive at the rental counter.
If you are satisfied with your total:
- Simply confirm the reservation.
Upon return, the tenant will receive the difference after deducting the rental charges from the original amount charged. - If a renter secures his or her rental with a credit card but plans to pay cash upon return of the vehicle, Alamo will credit the renter's credit card upon return of the vehicle.
- If a tenant secures his or her rent with cash, he or she will receive the refund at the point of return or by mail, depending on the office.
- Note: Not all offices accept cash.
- If a renter secures their rental by debit card, their refund will be processed the same day.
- The time it takes to be reflected in the tenant's account will depend on your banking institution, so you should expect approximately 5 to 10 business days.
